Mike Tyson Arrested At LAX

Mike Tyson has been arrested at LAX airport for battery after a bloody confrontation with a paparazzo outside the United terminal.

We're told Tyson punched the pap in the face and there is blood everywhere.

We're told Tyson was at a ticket counter at the United Airlines terminal when the incident occurred. The photographer got punched in the face, hit the ground, got up and began walking, leaving a trail of blood.
Someone at the scene tells TMZ ... the photographer got very close to Tyson before the boxer struck him. Our guy on the scene says there's blood on the ground and Mike was taken away in a squad car. We're told an ambulance was dispatched at 4:39 PM to LAX -- we're told the paparazzo was transported to a local hospital.

If Tyson is prosecuted, given that he's a former boxing champ, the charge could end up being assault with a deadly weapon.

UPDATE: Tyson's rep says he was traveling with his 10-month old child when he was attacked by an overly aggressive paparazzi -- adding the boxer acted in self-defense to protect his child.

Shaquille O'Neal's wife Shaunie has abruptly flown to Los Angeles and filed a petition for legal separation in Los Angeles County Superior Court ... and Shaq's people think it's all about money.

TMZ has learned Shaunie filed legal papers yesterday in L.A., even though the couple lives in Florida. The petition says although Shaunie is filing for legal separation, she intends to file for divorce. She lists "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for separation.

We're told Shaunie pulled her kids out of school in Florida several days ago and they are with her now in L.A.

Why, you ask, would Shaunie cross the country to file in L.A.? Well, a spouse generally does a lot better in the spousal support department here in California. Shaunie is asking for both spousal and child support -- though she did not specify an amount for either.

Shaunie claims in her papers to be a resident of L.A. since November 8, 2009 -- 2 days ago.

The date of separation is listed as 11-9-09. The couple has 4 minor children. Shaunie wants legal and physical custody of all the kids.

They have been married for 6 years, 11 months.

Crazy Lisa Nowak Gets Off Easy

The former astronaut arrested in an attack against her romantic rival has pleaded guilty to lesser counts this afternoon.

Before a packed courtroom 1:30 p.m., Lisa Marie Nowak, 46, pleaded guilty to counts of third-degree burglary of a conveyance and misdemeanor battery. She was originally charged with more-serious counts of attempted kidnapping and burglary with assault in addition to misdemeanor battery.

Prosecutors dropped a count of burglary with assault.

Orange County Circuit Court Judge Marc L. Lubet sentenced Nowak to two days in Orange County Jail with credit for time served and one year of probation. She must stay away from victim Colleen Shipman and has to write a "sincere" letter of apology to her within 10 days.
Nowak, a mission specialist on Discovery's flight in July 2006, was charged in a confrontation with romantic rival Shipman at Orlando International Airport on Feb. 5, 2007.

Shipman was dating Bill Oefelein, an astronaut at the time and Nowak's former lover. Orlando police say Nowak drove from Houston to Orlando and attacked Shipman in the airport parking lot. She's accused of blasting Shipman with pepper spray -- but her defense has challenged whether Shipman had any contact with the spray.

During Tuesday's hearing, a tearful Shipman said she was certain Nowak meant to kill her.

Shipman said she lost her job in the U.S. Air Force because of the attack, and that it caused her medical problems such as high blood pressure. Her family has lost money taking time off work to support her through the trial, she said.

Now, Shipman has nightmares, she said, and is always looking over her shoulder.

Tampa wedding reception turns into parking lot brawl, police say

TAMPA — Mary Wright, 74, was thrilled Sunday night to see her grandson marry his longtime sweetheart in a beautiful, white wedding at the waterfront Rusty Pelican Restaurant.

Thrilled, that is, until she found herself with a stranger's hands around her neck — amid a sprawling melee involving 30 to 40 wedding guests that resulted in a flying brick, the appearance of a gun, a call to the cops and, inevitably, a bride in tears.

"Things were happening and I was confused," Wright said. "I don't know what really set it off."

The trouble started about 9 p.m. This is what police say happened:

The party was coming to an end. The groom, Markeith Brown, was throwing dollar bills onto the dance floor as kids scurried to gather them — "makin' it rain," the rappers call it.

One guest didn't like that. Brown and his brother didn't like the criticism. They confronted the guest.

Push came to shove. More guests took sides. Shoves came to punches. The brawl spilled into the parking lot at 2425 Rocky Point Drive.

Someone called the cops.

One man, reportedly intoxicated, was knocked down by a brick to the head, witnesses told police.

Several errant blows landed on Officer Mike White as he tried to separate the combatants.
The fight then moved to the parking lot of the Residence Inn at 4312 Boy Scout Blvd. — more than four miles away.

Police say someone called Malcolm Anthony Hepburn, a 30-year-old convicted felon with a 20-page rap sheet and a stolen gun. The caller told him the groom and his brother had hit Hepburn's cousin with a brick.

Hepburn showed up at the hotel and approached the groom's father, 47-year-old Andrew Thompson, and Grandma Wright.

Hepburn took a swing at Thompson as Wright watched it all unfold.

"Y'all need to stop that," the grandmother yelled. "Why are y'all doing this?"

She felt hands grab her neck from behind. It was a woman she didn't know, who had come with Hepburn. "I'm gonna choke you out," she remembers the woman saying.

Police say Thompson was lying on the floor, Hepburn kicking his face and ribs, when an officer arrived.

The officer arrested Hepburn and seized the gun, which had been reported stolen in Manatee County. Police charged him with felony battery, carrying a concealed firearm, grand theft of a firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Hepburn would bail out of jail the following day with $13,500.

The man hit by the brick refused to cooperate. The grandma-choker was later identified, but not immediately arrested. Thompson suffered bruises and a possible broken nose and ribs.

And the bride cried.

"She was very upset and her mom was very upset," Wright said.

The groom, out of prison for less than a month after serving a nine-month sentence on cocaine charges, was not arrested. He and his bride, 34-year-old Tasha C. Johnson, are on a honeymoon cruise.

His grandmother told him to go and to try to forget what happened. She said Monday that her neck is fine, but her memories of the wedding are marred.

"Young people," Wright said, "are so stupid these days."

Shock & Awe Tracy Morgan Send Fans Running For Exit

Fans expecting to see Tracy Jordan at Tracy Morgan’s Carnegie Hall performance Friday night got a rude awakening.

The bawdy comedian packed the venerable performance venue with fans expecting his “30 Rock” character’s prime-time humor. But minutes after Morgan started his routine, many walked out in disgust.

It turns out that some New Yorkers really can’t take a joke — especially when it’s unspeakably filthy.

“People seemed to not be laughing at his jokes, but more because they were shocked and appalled with what was coming out of his mouth,” reports one audience member. Morgan talked trash about homosexuality (saying it’s “a choice,” which drew gasps), drugs, pornography and what he calls “politricks” — far edgier subjects than what his alter ego, Jordan, gets air time for.

“There was a continuous flow of people getting up and leaving throughout the show,” our spy reports, adding that many in the crowd clearly didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. Middle-aged women were the most flabbergasted when he started mimicking explicit sex acts on stage.

When Morgan found something shocking, he held onto it for minutes on end.

Some of the controversial jabs he made included a set about the First Family.

“Obama is really changing the White House, because he and Michelle will have the first presidential sex tape out,” he said to a stunned crowd.

Morgan did better at his second try on politics, saying he wouldn’t vote for Mayor Bloomberg because all he does is go to Yankee games — a gag that seemed to at least draw a hoot from the crowd.

The comedian has made his name off his eyebrow-raising opinions — most recently, he recounted his sordid life story of sex, drugs and strip clubs in a tell-all, “I Am the New Black.”

Despite a reputation for outrageous behavior during TV interviews, he made a mainstream comedy comeback when Tina Fey tapped him for “30 Rock” in 2006.

No one knew better than Morgan himself that the crowd got more than they bargained for.

At one point Friday night, he addressed shocked showgoers, saying, “You want the clean Tracy? Turn on the TV.”

Still, not everyone was horrified by the spectacle.

Spike Lee, John Singleton and “Rock” co-star Jane Krakowski were all in the audience— and gave a standing ovation.

Comedian Katt Williams posts bond, calls alleged burglary a' misunderstanding'

Comedian Katt Williams kept it light at his bond hearing Monday, telling the judge he could have his $200,000 Bentley if it would get him out of jail quicker.
Coweta County Magistrate Judge Joseph Wyatt settled for a $41,150 bail for the actor and TV personality, charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor criminal trespassing.

Williams was arrested Sunday night after the an employee at the Coweta estate where the comedian is staying called 911 to report a break-in at a guesthouse located on the property. The caller said the 36-year-old part-time Atlantan stole jewelery and other personal items, though Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager said authorities have not located the missing merchandise.

"This was a misunderstanding between me and two stupid detectives," said Williams as he emerged from the Coweta jail Monday night. He was mobbed by about 50 excited fans before departing in a van filled with friends and associates.

In court Judge Wyatt agreed this was no "typical" burglary. Williams said he was staying at producer Barry Hankerson's Coweta estate, located in the 3400 block of Smokey Road, while in town filming a movie about President Barack Obama.

"I was in the middle of a birthday party" when arrested, Williams told the judge. "I'm one of the most honorable people in my profession," said the father of eight children, seven of whom were adopted.
This wouldn't be the first time police were dispatched to the Coweta estate. An unidentified 17-year-old called 911 on Nov. 3, claiming Williams was holding him against his will.

"He threatened to beat me up," said the caller, who told a sheriff's deputy he was trying to catch a plane to New York City. No charges were filed but the incident remains under investigation.

It's been a turbulent year for the comedian, whose birth name is Micah Williams. He was arrested almost a year ago to the day in New York City for gun possession, though charges were eventually dropped.

He was also reportedly admitted to a South Carolina psychiatric ward last November. His publicist at the time blamed his erratic behavior on exhaustion.

Williams' credits include the comedy "First Sunday" and the Eddie Murphy film, "Norbit." He also headlined an HBO special, "Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1," shot in Atlanta.

NBA Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Is Battling Cancer

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, one of basketball's all-time greatest players, announced Tuesday morning that he has cancer. The sports legend made the public disclosure nearly a year after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia.

"Having lost one of my closest friends to a different, highly aggressive form of leukemia, I knew how serious my diagnosis was," said Abdul-Jabbar, 62. "My own life expectancy became a question mark."

Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, won five championships with the Los Angeles Lakers before retiring in 1989. He was diagnosed with CML in December 2008 and is being treated with a medicine that targets the abnormal protein that causes his leukemia. With treatment, Abdul-Jabbar, who currently is a coach with the Lakers, is expected to live a full, active life.

The intensely private Abdul-Jabbar, a father of five, said he came forward after learning many patients don't regularly take their medication and skip appointments to the doctor.

"I'm telling my story to encourage fellow patients to take charge of their health," he said. "Work closely with your doctor, monitor your disease and, above all, take your medicine."

Variety reports that Screen Gems has acquired Sheneneh and Wanda, a comic vehicle for Jamie Foxx and Martin Lawrence to star in. The duo would play female characters they developed during their stand up comedy days in the caper film.

Foxx will write the script and he and Martin will produce together through Foxx's Foxxhole and Lawrence's Runteldat production companies.

The project originated as a parody of a movie trailer for a film called "Skank Robbers," which Foxx and Lawrence made for the BET Awards (watch below!). The reaction was strong enough that the duo decided to turn the concept into a real film.

In the comedy, Sheneneh and Wanda are modern day independent women trying to make it on their own, one bank robbery at a time.
Foxx and Lawrence have long tried to find a vehicle to work together, and Screen Gems Clint Culpepper is fast tracking the production.

Foxx, who last starred in "Law Abiding Citizen," will next be seen in the romantic comedy "Valentine's Day." Lawrence will next be seen in the Screen Gems comedy "Death at a Funeral."

'Friday After Next' comedian Katt Williams was arrested overnight after police say he broke into a home in suburban Atlanta and snatched various items including jewelry.

ET has obtained a multi-million dollar lawsuit filed by Jennifer Lopez against her ex-husband Ojani Noa, who Lopez claims is trying to release a movie about their marriage as well as home-video footage of her.

The story follows:

Lopez accuses Noa and another defendant, Ed Meyer, of producing and marketing a proposed feature film called 'How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The JLo and Ojani Noa Story.'

The star singer and actress contends that such a project would violate a settlement agreement (containing non-disparagement and non-disclosure clauses) she and Noa entered into in 2005.

Lopez also alleges that Meyer sent her attorney an email stating that he'd purchased from Noa the "exclusive rights" to "11+ hours of previously unseen home video footage" of the ex couple.

She claims a second alleged email from Meyer to her lawyer described the footage as showing Lopez "in [a] revealing lack of clothing, and in sexual situations, especially in the hotel room footage from [her and Noa's] honeymoon."

Lopez is suing the defendants for no less than $10,000,000. She and Noa married in 1997 and divorced less than a year later.

Michael Jackson's father is trying to obtain an allowance from the late singer's estate.

ET has obtained court documents filed by an attorney for Joe Jackson in Los Angeles on Friday, in which the 81-year-old is seeking an allowance from his son's estate.

The papers state that Jackson "has been without support since the death of his son…," and "is in urgent need [of] funds to maintain his household."
Jackson's attorney also says in the document: "For reasons which [were] never explained, [the special administrators of Michael Jackson's estate] excluded Joseph Jackson from their petition although they knew that Michael Jackson had supported for many decades his father…."

The papers also state that Joe Jackson suffered a stroke in 1998, was hospitalized in 2004 for stomach ulcers and "was dependent upon the money provided by his son, Michael Jackson, through his wife, Katherine Jackson, for his support."

The AP reports that a judge has approved $26,000 in monthly payments to his mother and $60,000 monthly for the care of his children -- "Prince" Michael, Paris and "Blanket."

Katherine has custody of the children and live in the family home, Joe on the other hand is living the life as a Old Sugar Daddy and he need to be silent and put his hands in his pocket and keep it movin.

He was one of the fastest linebackers of all time ... but NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor was arrested Sunday night after cops say he booked it from the scene of an accident.

Taylor, who recently competed on "Dancing with the Stars," was arrested in Dade County, Florida at 9:57 PM for "leaving scene of an accident/property damage."

Taylor was brought to a local police station, where he was booked, smiled for a mug shot, and was eventually released on $500 bond.

According to the booking sheet, Taylor -- who is a spokesman for Nutrisystem -- was listed at 253 pounds.

Lawrence Taylor has a storied history of substance abuse, but Miami cops tell TMZ the NFL legend looked completely sober when he was arrested late last night.

Cops say despite his bloodshot eyes in the mugshot, Taylor -- who's been arrested twice on drug-related charges in the past -- was so coherent when he was arrested for hit-and-run last night , that officers didn't feel the need to perform a sobriety test.

As TMZ first reported, Taylor was busted after cops say he left the scene of a car accident. Cops believe Taylor hit another car and then a guard rail ... and then drove away from the scene.

We're told no one was injured.

Cops tell us when they found Taylor, he was standing outside of his car -- which was missing a front tire. The tire was found at the scene of the crash .. which means Taylor may have driven several miles on just the axle.

We're told Taylor was very cooperative when he was arrested -- he was eventually released on $500 bond.

Arraignment for comedian Katt Williams at 4 p.m.

Atlanta comedian Katt Williams was in jail Monday morning after being arrested and charged with burglary and criminal trespassing, a deputy at the Coweta County jail said.

Williams, whose real name is Micah Williams, was arrested early Monday, the deputy said.

His bond will be set at an arraignment hearing at 4 p.m., a deputy confirmed.

Williams was arrested by Coweta County deputies. No other details were immediately available.

Williams has hosted the BET awards and appeared in the comedy "First Sunday" and in the Eddie Murphy film "Norbitt." He also had an HBO special, Katt Williams: Pimp Chronicles Pt. 1," which was shot in Atlanta.

Traffic Stop For Dark Tint Was More Trouble Than It Was Worth

TAMPA - A traffic stop in Lake Wales for tinted windows turned into an angry confrontation between police, deputies, state troopers and as many as 100 bystanders.

Two officers and one of the two people arrested were treated for minor injuries. Police are looking for three others in the incident, which started around 2:45 p.m. Saturday, the Lake Wales Police Department said.

Police gave this account:

An officer pulled over a car driven by Vincent Thomas at C Street and Dr. J.A. Wiltshire Avenue. He noticed Thomas eating marijuana, police said.

The officer attempted to arrest Thomas and he put up a struggle, attracting bystanders who started shouting profanities.

A safety cadet riding with the officer radioed for help and got out to tell the group to stand back. Police said bystander Donovan Gray punched the cadet in the chest.

As Thomas struggled, two passengers in the car grabbed the marijuana and ran off as back-up officers arrived. The crowd grew more agitated as Thomas was arrested, police said.

Gray punched one officer and fought with others as they tried to arrest him, police said. Police fired darts from an electronic stun device into Gray but a bystander yanked loose the darts, enabling him to continue fighting, police said.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers and Polk County Sheriff's deputies responded and helped disperse the crowd. Lake Wales police estimated that 75 to 100 people had gathered.

The confrontation ended about 4 p.m.
Police charged Thomas, 24, of Lake Wales with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana, tampering with evidence and resisting arrest without violence.

Gray, 21, also of Lake Wales, was charged with battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence, police said.

Authorities are also looking for Charles Hart, 24, Clifford Hart, 24, and Ernest Hampton, 19, all from Lake Wales.

Shayla Stevens, a former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, was an employee at Dupri's Atlanta club Studio 72 when she claims Da Brat smashed her in the face with a bottle, causing serious injuries.

The lawsuit in Fulton County Superior Court claims Da Brat, born Shawntae Harris, has a criminal record and violent past record of assaulting other women; and that Dupri, a promoter named Joseph London and security personnel failed to protect her from the rapper during the altercation at a Halloween party in October 2007.

Stevens suffered permanent scars and nerve damage to her face after Da Brat struck her with a bottle of rum.

In August of 2008, Da Brat pleaded guilty to Felony Aggravated Assault and was sentenced to three years in prison. Upon her release, Da Brat must also serve seven years of probation and perform 200 hours of community service.

In 2000, Da Brat was charged with pistol-whipping another woman during a dispute in the V.I.P. section of a Buckhead, Georgia nightclub. In that assault, which required her victim to receive six stitches, Da Brat was sentenced to 80 hours of probation and fined $1,000.

TMZ has learned Usher Raymond recently called the cops on his soon-to-be ex-wife -- accusing her of sneaking onto his property and scratching up one of his cars.

Law enforcement sources tell us when officers arrived at the scene, Tameka Raymond was nowhere to be found.

Police later interviewed both Tameka and Usher -- but determined there was no evidence or witnesses to substantiate Usher's claim.

But the drama didn't end there -- law enforcement sources tell us Usher called the cops on Tameka a second time several days later, complaining that Tameka again got onto his property and wouldn't leave. By the time cops arrived, Tameka had already split.
Usher filed for divorce back in June ... but it hasn't been finalized just yet.

Keshia Walker of Insights Marketing says event planner Anthony Shorter was wrong in the famous expletive-laced tirade with Sheree Whitfield during the season two premiere of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” And worse, Walker says, Shorter never paid the vendors who worked the party that went on despite Sheree’s absence.

Walker said Shorter over-promised and under-delivered for Sheree’s divorce party — which caused Sheree to question Shorter’s competence. Concerns over the progress of the event prompted Bravo TV to bring Walker on board. “I was brought in to fill in the gaps and address some of the issues and concerns that Sheree had of Anthony’s production of the event, to make [Sheree] more comfortable with proceeding,” she says.

Walker says Shorter didn’t invite her to the infamous meeting with Sheree. And now Walker is glad she wasn’t present to be stained by all the mudslinging. “I was not even in the building when that meeting took place … and Sheree was furious. She was not going to attend the party on the upcoming Saturday. She didn’t want to have any dealing with Anthony. She felt threatened both professionally and physically,” Walker says.

Walker says she had never heard of Shorter before and hopes to never have his name roll off her tongue again. “I will never work with Anthony Shorter again,” she says. “He still owes vendors money from the event we executed four days later [after the Anthony-Sheree tirade]. Even though Sheree wasn’t able to attend, I had sponsors involved and we still went on with the event. He didn’t pay our sound company or the DJ that we used for the event. And he still hasn’t paid them to this day. There are other vendors who are calling our office trying to find him to get payment.”

Walker says in order to avoid hiring an incompetent event planner or promoter, you should, “follow up and check references on the event planner from both clients as well as venues. You really hit the ground running from the moment you walked through that door. Do you think you played the game too hard, too fast?
Looking back, I think what went wrong was the fact that it was really difficult to counterbalance my passion and love for this game…with my actual strategy. I made the alliance with Jessie and the athletes right off the bat because I was absolutely afraid of being targeted by them because of my intelligence.

You were loyal to Jessie to the very end. How did you react when you found out that he was part of the Jeff-Russell-Graduation deal to send you home?

I am disappointed by that, because I did stay true to Jessie. It must have been a game move; it wasn’t Jessie making a personal comment about me the way that Russell or Michele did. I can respect gameplay.

Do you have a bit of a man-crush on Jessie since he helped you drop 20 lbs.?

[Laughs] I don’t know if I would call it a man-crush,

but I think it was definitely a mixture of starstruck, because he is a past house guest, and I am such an uber-fan of the show–and the fact that I wish I was cut like that. Maybe I’d get more attention from the ladies. I’m married, but you can window shop, right?

When you called Michele the “worst person I have ever had the misfortune to meet,” was that hyperbole or did you really mean that?

Michele did try to get to know me as a person, and we tried to form a personal relationship. But when my nomination came across, she totally flipped [but] there were no hard feelings at that point. And then in the last 72 hours, she started in with the personal attacks, so I truly did mean what I said at that time. Michele turned out to be someone that I didn’t think she was.

In her outgoing message to you, Chima vowed to bring down Russell, and then she goes and wins the HOH competition. Do you think she’ll follow through?

Absolutely! But when I say that, I mean that will be her intention. Who knows what’s going to happen with POV. Russell could win it, but she did tell me, Jessie and Natalie that Russell is going home if she wins HOH.

What did you learn about yourself during your stay in the BB house?
I’ve always considered myself a very strong person mentally.

I learned that I’m even stronger mentally than even I thought that I was. I also learned that I really, really, really love my wife. She is truly my best friend.

What’s the one thing that you would have done differently if you had the chance?

If anything, I would have back-doored Russell in week 2.

But you change one thing, you change everything. Even if I had succeeded in getting Russell out,

maybe Jessie would have put me out in week 3.

I’m thankful for every moment that I had in the BB house. It was the experience of a lifetime and I did everything that I wanted to do in that house. Whether you love to hate me or hate to love me, I’m unforgettable at this point.

Victim in Stockbridge 'super glue' case charged with felony child abuse

FOND DU LAC — A man who was the victim of a revenge act by four women in a Calumet County incident last week was charged today with felony child abuse.

Donessa T. Davis, 36, also was charged with misdemeanor counts of theft, unlawful use of a telephone and making threats with obscenities, and with harassment with the threat of death.

Judge Peter Grimm set bond at $5,000 cash and scheduled a preliminary hearing for 2 p.m. Aug. 14. The incidents occurred in July.

Grimm ordered Davis to not have contact with his wife or the two 8-year-old children listed as victims in the complaint.

Davis was the victim last week at a Town of Stockbridge motel where four women, including his wife, confronted him and assaulted him after learning he was dating at least three other women besides his wife.

The women — Therese A. Ziemann, 47, of Menasha; Wendy L. Sewell, 44, of Kaukauna; Michelle M. Belliveau, 43, of Neenah; and Tracy M. Hood-Davis, 30, of Fond du Lac – have all been charged with felony false imprisonment, while Ziemann has also been charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and battery, a misdemeanor.

The criminal complaints said Ziemann lured Davis to the motel room and used a ruse to tie him up with sheets, then sent a text message to the other three women, who came to the room.

Police said Ziemann cut off the man’s underwear. The women taunted him, and Ziemann slapped him and used Krazy Glue to glue his penis to his stomach.

In an interview with the AJC Friday, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member NeNe Leakes said that no charges have been filed or a warrant issued for her arrest following a April 14 incident with castmate Kim Zolciak at Atlantic Station.

Leakes confirmed that a disagreement materialized between the two women as Bravo cameras rolled outside Taste clothing boutique, a 17th Street shop owned by Teresa Caldwell, the mother of Atlanta rapper Bow Wow.

According to a police report filed by Atlanta police officer R.J. Byers on April 15, he met Zolciak at the Atlanta shopping center where she reported Leakes attempted to choke her during an argument. Byers reports witnesses broke up the skirmish. The officer also stated he advised Zolciak to “take pictures of any bruises to her neck” and to go to the Fulton County courthouse with the witnesses and request a warrant for Leakes’ arrest.

“There was never a warrant and there was never an arrest,” Leakes told the AJC. “The cameras were there. Everyone will see what really happened when it airs on the show. Kim has a problem. You need to type that out in big, bold letters. If she feels threatened, she should. I would never claim that someone put their hands on me and tried to choke me if it didn’t happen. For real. If that happens to someone for real, I would advise them to call the police and have that person arrested. That clearly didn’t happen.”

Leakes said viewers can expect more fireworks in next week’s edition of the hit Bravo reality show. The episode will pick up from Thursday night’s explosive argument between feuding “Housewives” Zolciak, Sheree Whitfield and Leakes.

The trio initially met at French American Brasserie restaurant downtown to try and negotiate a truce. Things quickly spiralled out of control with name-calling and shouting as shocked FAB staffers and diners looked on in horror.

In previews for the next week’s show, the three are seen screaming at each other on the sidewalk outside the eatery on Ivan Allen Boulevard.

Kim Zolciak says she is going to press assault charges against her fellow Real Housewife of Atlanta, NeNe Leakes.

As OK! reported, Kim has accused her former best friend of “choking her out” off-camera — a claim NeNe has strenuously denied.

Although Kim filed a police report after the alleged attack on April 14th, she decided not to take NeNe to court.

But now Kim tells OK! that she has had a change of heart — because NeNe has publicly denied the incident ever happened.

Bravo, which airs the show, had not responded to our request for a comment before this story was posted and NeNe could not be reached.

A concert featuring Rick Ross tonight (August 1) in Bermuda has been canceled after the government denied the rapper a work permit to perform.

Earlier this week, Immigration Minister David Burch refused to issue a permit for Rick Ross to perform at the Cup Match Extravaganza, which was supposed to take place at Snorkel Park.

According to Bermuda’s Royal Gazette, the rapper’s work permit was denied because he did not “possess good character and conduct.”

The show’s promoter, Kendricks Zuill said he thought Immigration officials were confusing Rick Ross, born William Roberts, with “Freeway” Ricky Ross, a recently released, former crack/cocaine kingpin.

"I've been trying to convince them that he is a man of good conduct,” the show’s promoter Kendricks Zuill said. “I was providing them with information, but all they told me was that the Minister was not satisfied. It's something personal.”

While Rick Ross was arrested in January of 2008 on a gun charge, those charges were eventually dropped.

Refunds are being issued to over 500 people who had started purchasing tickets to the show.
Rick Ross has been approved entry into the United Kingdom for a tour that will start next month.

NeNe allegedly strangled Kimberly during a heated exchange. The incident report obtained by ET states that Kim was going to shoot a scene for "Real Housewives of Atlanta" and got into an argument with NeNe. While they were fighting, NeNe started to point her fingers in Kim's face.

The report claims that when witnesses tried to break them up, NeNe "grabbed [Kim] by the neck and tried to choke her out."

I went down to Orlando today to greet the 65 kids from Philly at Disney World.

I gotta tell you, I thought I was giving them a gift, and boy was I wrong. These beautifully faced children of all shades brought tears to my eyes.

I'm still feeling it as I think about them. They had so much hope, and they were so excited and happy, it was as if nothing bad had ever happened to them in their lives.

I prayed with them and I challenged them to do well in school. Then I asked a question, I asked, "if one black person robs a bank, does that mean all black people will rob a bank?" They said no. Then I asked them, "if one white person is mean and disrespectful to them, will all white people be mean and disrespectful to them, will all white people be mean and disrespectful to them?" They said no, and I was so happy to hear that! I went on to tell them that there was good and bad in all of us, so we are all the same - black, white or whatever. I asked them not to judge everyone by what a few people do to them. I think they got it. I think they understood my point.

Part of my prayer for this situation is that the parents, not only at the Valley Swim Club, but also the parents of these children will walk away with what I walked away with after being with them. Children are resilient. They don't hold on to things, they will mostly take time on the positions and opinions of their parents.

And we need to be smart enough as adults to teach our kids to judge by character and not by race. I think they got it. Let's hope we ALL do. It was beautiful. I'll talk to you soon.

Midwest City, Oklahoma (The Weekly Vice) - Joycelyn Louis, a 72-year-old Oklahoma foster parent is about to face justice after she heated up a potato masher and then used it to brand a 9-year-old boy.
According to Midwest City police, Louis heated up a potato masher until it was red hot and then used it to repeatedly burn a 9-year-old boy in her care.

"The foster mother accused him of stealing money from her. At that point she took this potato masher, heated it on the stove to where it was red hot and branded him," said Chief Brandon Cabes of the Midwest City Police Department.

Investigators say the boy then ran to his room crying, however the woman followed him, stating "I'm not finished with you." She then allegedly proceeded to brand him again. When she was done, she allegedly told him "if anybody asks, say you were accidentally burned."

Although the woman has not yet spoken to police about the incident, DHS workers say she told them she burned the boy because he wouldn't listen to her.

Police say they are awaiting a warrant for Louis' arrest. The boy has been taken into DHS custody.

Police Bomb & Arson investigators are examining a suspicious package found Friday outside Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions Inc. studio in Chicago, where she films her talk show.

A security guard found a dark-colored backpack with wires hanging out of it in a flowerbed outside the studio around 6:20 a.m., police tell Usmagazine.com.

The suspicious package did not blow up, and no one was hurt, police said, adding that the studio was not evacuated.

The who’s who of the Atlanta social scene descended upon the W Buckhead Hotel Tuesday night for the red carpet premiere of the anticipated second season of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Kim Zolciak, Lisa Wu-Hartwell, Sheree Whitfield and NeNe Leakes — along with new Housewife Kandi Burruss — happily posed together for photographers, but it wasn’t long before the war of words began.

“We are still not friends,” Leakes said of Zolciak, her sparring partner on the first season. “Nothing has changed … A lot of people work with people they don’t like everyday. I am just one of those girls who work with people I don’t like.”

Well, something has changed. DeShawn Snow has been replaced in season 2 by Burruss, a singer and songwriter who has penned songs for artists like Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child and TLC.

Burruss told PEOPLE she and NeNe didn’t exactly hit it off. “She called me ghetto at one point,” she said. “She has a lot of nerve. Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?”

“I did not know her before the show and I still don’t know her now,” Leakes replied. “I think she was hearing negativity from somewhere else because she does not know me well enough to treat me the way that she does. But, it’s okay. I find that women who are very weak cannot stand up to a strong woman like me.”

Burruss, however, viewed the situation differently. “Her mouth is just way too much. I cannot take the loud talking and the waving of the finger in your face,” she said. “If you do that to me, I am ready to go after you.”

A former member of the ’90s girl group Xscape, Burruss said her experience with the group prepared her for Housewives.

“I am used to dealing with women. I have the ability to work with someone you have just had an argument with. But, towards the end of taping, it became really tense,” she said.

“NeNe and I got into to it and then [the producers] wanted us to come back and talk about it. That talk did not go so well either.”

While Leakes proclaimed herself “the realest of the Atlanta Housewives,” Burruss expressed doubt about NeNe’s authenticity. “At times, I would think, ‘Is she just trying to egg things on for television or does she truly think and act like this?’”

NeNe explained: “I have what they call, ‘camera balls,’” said Leakes,
whose memoir, Never Make the Same Mistake Twice, debuts Aug. 11.

“When the camera comes on, they come out … I am not superficial nor am I fake. I don’t switch gears. I am always this way. If you —- with me, I will —- with you!”

A fierce custody battle is brewing over two of Michael Jackson's children, with their mother relaying word Thursday that she plans to fight for them in court,

and the Jackson family signaling they will fight right back.

Debbie Rowe, the mother of Prince, 12, and Paris, 11, spoke to her former attorney Iris Finsilver, who says, "She is going to be pursuing custody of the children."

"Frankly, she won't have to fight for them," Finsilver tells PEOPLE. "She is the children's biological mother. She loves her children."

The kids, along with a third child, Prince Michael II (Blanket), 7, whose mother is unknown,

are in the temporary court-ordered care of Jackson family matriarch Katherine Jackson, 79, whom the singer named as guardian in his 2002 will. (Diana Ross was also named, in the event that Katherine was no longer living.)

A source close to the Jackson family says they intend to seek permanent custody. "They will fight," says the source.

Rowe earlier made her position clear July 2 in an interview with a Los Angeles television station, saying, "I want my children."

"I am stepping up," she told a reporter for Los Angeles station NBC 4 in a 90-minute phone conversation. "I have to."

Rowe also said she'd be willing to take custody of Blanket to keep the three children together,

and she may seek a restraining order to keep her former father-in-law, Joe Jackson, away from her children.

A: Oh, man. It's surrealistic. I went to Shanghai for the movie festival over there—I took Halle Berry—and then went back to Luxembourg, and in three days I lost Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and Michael. And Michael's thing is still surrealistic to me. I can't process it, man. I don't know how to process it. It's just unbelievable—him leaving before me. I can't believe it.

A: Oh, we talked about it all the time. But he'd come up with, "Man, I promise you I have this disease," and so forth, and "I have a blister on my lungs," and all that kind of b.s. It's hard, because Michael's a Virgo, man—he's very set in his ways. You can't talk him out of it. Chemical peels and all that stuff.

Q: Did you believe him about the disease?
A: I don't believe in any of that bullshit, no. No. Never. I've been around junkies and stuff all my life. I've heard every excuse. It's like smokers—"I only smoke when I drink" and all that stuff. But it's bullshit. You're justifying something that's destructive to your existence. It's crazy. I mean, I came up with Ray Charles, man.

You know, nobody gonna pull no wool over my eyes. He did heroin 20 years! Come on. And black coffee and gin for 40 years. But when he called me to come over to see him when he was in the hospital on his way out, man, he had emphysema, hepatitis C, cirrhosis of the liver, and five malignant tumors. Please, man! I've been around this all my life. So it's hard for somebody to pull the wool over my eyes. But when somebody's hell-bent on it, you can't stop 'em.

Q: But it must've been so disturbing to see Michael's face turn into what it turned into.
A: It's ridiculous, man! Chemical peels and all of it. And I don't understand it. But he obviously didn't want to be black.

Q: Is that what it was?
A: Well, what do you think? You see his kids?

Q: Did you ever discuss it? Did you ever ask, "Michael, don't you want to be a black man?"
A: No, no, no, please. That's not the way you do it.

Q: But he was beautiful before?
A: Man, he was the most gorgeous guy.

Q: But he seemed to have some deep-seated issue with how he looked?
A: Well, that comes about a certain way. I'm not sure how it happens. I'm just a musician and a record producer. I'm not a psychiatrist. I don't understand all that stuff. We all got problems. But there's a great book out called Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart. Did you see that? That book says the statute of limitations has expired on all childhood traumas. Get your stuff together and get on with your life, man. Stop whinin' about what's wrong, because everybody's had a rough time, in one way or another.

Q: I've heard you say that you wanted Michael to sing "She's Out of My Life," the great pop ballad from Off the Wall, in part because you felt like he had to deal with reality.
A: I just wanted to hear him deal with a romantic relationship with a human being rather than a rat. I'm saying that facetiously, but it's true. I saw him at the Oscars very emotional about "Ben." I wanted to hear him get in touch with a real human relationship. "She's Out of My Life" was written by Tommy Bahler from a very bad ending to a marriage. So it was very real. I was saving it for Sinatra. But I gave it to Michael. And Michael cried during every take, and I left the tears in.

Q: It's interesting you mention this, because I was just watching a clip on YouTube where you're sitting on a couch with Michael and he's petting a snake the whole time.
A: Oh, I remember that. Yeah, that was Muscles.

Q: Muscles?
A: Muscles. That's a big boa constrictor he had. Muscles used to wrap around my leg in a record session and crawl across the console. I was never comfortable with that.

It was a choice between that and Bubbles—you know, the chimp.

Q: Did you ever meet Bubbles?
A: Are you kidding me?

He bit a hole in my daughter's hand! Rashida's hand. Rashida Jones—did you see I Love You, Man? That's my daughter. She was a little girl. And Bubbles bit her hand.

Michael used to bring Muscles and Bubbles by the house all the time, you know.

Q: What did you think of that? Wasn't that a little weird?

A: I don't know, man. Everybody does his own thing. I've met every freak in the business. Everybody has their idiosyncrasies. I try not to judge it, you know. I know all women are junkies for little dogs and bags and purses. Ha ha ha ha!

Q: At root, what do you think killed Michael Jackson?
A: I don't know, man. I'm a musician. I'm not a psychiatrist. I would think that the pressure of the concerts and the debt and everything else . . . look, I've been in the hands of Nobel doctors for the last five years, in Stockholm, at the Karolinska hospital, which you can't even pay to get in. I've learned so much about the human mind and the body, and the doctors talk all the time about how you become your thoughts. It's true. With one thought it starts, you know, and if you sit there and just stay hung up on one negative thought, you will become that thought. I know that Lisa Marie Presley said that she always thought he was going to die like Elvis. You sit and think about that stuff, it'll happen to you. If you start thinking about darkness instead of light, or fear instead of love, you'll get in trouble. I really believe that.

Q: With so many people asking you about Michael Jackson, is it hard to find the private space in which to mourn his death?
A: Yes, it is. It's surrealistic. I don't know how to process it at all. Because everybody's reacting to it, and making up their own answers.

Q: You've said that you don't attend funerals anymore because you've lost so many friends. Do you plan to attend Michael Jackson's funeral?
A: No, not at all, not at all. Because it's going to be, like, 9 million people there, and it's not what I want to see.

Q: You're not going to be there?
A: No. I can't be there, anyway. I'm going to Wales the day after tomorrow, I go to Montreux, I go to Marbella, I go to the south of France. My condolences and love I've already sent to the family. But being there with 10 million people is not my idea of a tribute to somebody you were so close to—who's got a part of your soul. Our souls were joined, you know. And a piece of it goes with him.

*Quincy Jones, the producer of Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" albums, says he won't be attending the funeral for Michael Jackson because he can't bear to bury another close friend.

R. Kelly New Allegations Are False

Representatives for R&B singer R. Kelly have responded to recent media reports claiming the singer was involved in another scandal, this time allegedly with a 17-year-old girl.

Reports had stated that the singers home in Olympia Fields, Illinois had been raided the day before Kelly’s first ever tour of Africa.

Police were allegedly seeking a girl who was 16-years-old at the time, who was rumored to be staying with Kelly.

Internet reports stated that anonymous sources claimed police were “gathering evidence that included signed affidavits from several witnesses within R. Kelly’s circle.”

Police Chief Jeff Chudwin confirmed that they investigated Kelly, but “found there to be no crime and the matters have been closed.”

Representatives for Kelly also shot down the report, labeling it “wildly exaggerated and inaccurate.”

"No police ever showed up at Kelly's house with a search warrant nor was his house ever searched," a rep for Kelly said in a statement. "It is also not true ... that any such girl ever stayed overnight in Kelly's house or that she had been there but left shortly before some mythical police search."

In June of 2008, Kelly was acquitted of child pornography charges, after he was accused of videotaping himself engaged in sexual acts with a minor, including allegedly urinating on a 14-year-old, between 1998 and 2000.

A day after Michael Jackson's death, a cloud of deep sadness – mixed with growing anger – has descended on the Jackson family home in Encino, where Joe and Katherine Jackson and their children have gathered to mourn.

"We're holding a family meeting now," Joe told PEOPLE in a brief interview midday. "We don't like what's going on."

A source close to the family tell PEOPLE that, while the adults of the family put up a brave front on Friday for Michael's three children – Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Blanket, 7 – the emotions on Saturday are raw and bitter.

'The Sadness is Unreal'
"The kids have fallen apart today," says the source. "They have taken it so, so hard. Yesterday everybody was being really strong for the kids, but today it just hit everybody. There are so many tears."

A sharp division has opened between Michael Jackson's lawyers and personal staff and his parents and eight siblings.

"There is so much sadness in the house today, it's unreal. They are so confused. They are so in the dark," says the source. "The family has no access to the will. [Michael's lawyers] won't let the family see the will ... The family has no idea what to do. They don't even know when to bury him. They don't know what to do about anything. They aren't getting any answers from Michael's lawyers."

Mrs. Jackson Rebuffed

Another source of deep concern for the family: The intentions of Debbie Rowe,

Jackson's former wife and the mother of his two older children, whose lawyer yesterday confirmed that Rowe retains parental rights. The Jacksons apparently fear that Rowe, who has not lived with the children in year, may now want to raise them.

Murray is believed to be the last person to see Michael Jackson alive.

Jesse Jackson visited the family compound in Encino, California, on Friday.

"I talked with Mrs. Jackson and with the father, Joe, and she could not fight back the tears. She said, 'My baby is gone. Michael was such a good son. I loved him so much. I miss my baby.'"
The family wants to hear Murray's account of what happened, but they can't locate him, Jesse Jackson said.

"The doctor's bizarre behavior here is creating all these suspicions," he said. There are lingering questions, such as: 'How long had he stopped breathing? How long had he been unconscious?'"

He said the family may decide to pursue its own inquiry.

"At this point it [the investigation] is very incomplete," he said. "... They need an independent autopsy to get even more answers to questions that are now being driven by the gap between when Michael was last seen alive and [when] he was pronounced dead day before yesterday."

The possibility that Michael Jackson was taking medication that could have contributed to his death at age 50 weighs heavily on people close to the star.

'American Idol' alum Paris Bennett Talks Motherhood and Her Career

Momlogic.com talked to Paris Bennett, a mom and season 5 alum, about the show and how life has changed since motherhood.

Momlogic: How is motherhood? What can you tell us about your daughter?

Paris: My daughter, Egypt, was born on October 6th, 2008. She was 5 pounds, 15 ounces. That day, I didn't even know I was in labor -- and I couldn't tell you what contractions felt like! I was at my mom's house that afternoon and I felt her moving or pushing down. I thought she was just moving to rotate. I laid on my mom's bed and had some pain. I had a doctor's appointment that day, so I went a little early to the hospital for the appointment and they did a check on me. They said my water had broken and I was 8 cm dilated. I called my mom and the family rushed to the hospital. I got to the hospital at about 3:00 PM and Miss Egypt came at 3:36 PM.

To describe Egypt ... she's very demanding and diva-ristic. She does not like to be wet, have a dirty diaper, have dirty hands ... she's picky about everything.

Momlogic: What didn't you know before becoming a mom that you know now?

Paris: I never knew that warm milk at night or wrapping your baby tight after a bath would really work. My relatives used to say it, but I just thought it was old-school stuff. It really does work! I give Egypt a bath at night, wrap her in a warm blanket, and give her a warm bottle and she's out at night.

Momlogic: What advice can you give to young moms who worry they can't be a mom and pursue their dreams at the same time?

Paris: You can do it with a child! Never let anyone tell you you can't! Use your child for self-motivation. I look at Egypt every day and think of the things I want her to do in life and everything I wouldn't want her to want for. I work so she can have whatever she wants. The more you see how much you want for your child, the harder you work. Being a mom is not an easy thing, and it's an understatement if someone says it is. It takes time and a great deal of self-determination. I had my share of people saying I wouldn't be able to have a career and a baby, but that just made me want it more. I do it to the fullest. I am still me, the only difference is I have a child. I added her into my lifestyle and I am going to keep going and prove all of them wrong.

What The Hell......Man Killed Over Dinner Rolls

A 62-year-old man in Melvindale, Mich., died on Memorial Day after a fight with his 42-year-old daughter over food, according to local media reports.
When police arrived at the home, the found the man alive, but he was later pronounced dead at a hospital in Dearborn, The Detroit News reported.

Police believe the man was attacked after an argument with his daughter over some dinner rolls. The man had been stabbed, according to WDIV-TV, which has a video report from the scene. A gun was also involved in the argument, police said.
Police found the daughter hiding in woods behind the home. She was arrested and is considered a suspect, police said.
Some neighbors told WDIV that they had seen the daughter behaving erratically in the past, though they hadn't noticed any prior conflicts between her and her father.

Boxing champ Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter Exodus died Tuesday in a Phoenix hospital after accidentally getting her neck wrapped in a cord from an exercise machine at home, police say.

"Our sympathies go out to the family," says Phoenix police Sgt. Andy Hill.

Exodus's mother, whose name has not been released, was cleaning in another part of the house when she sent her 7-year-old son to the playroom to check on his sister. The boy found Exodus tangled in a cord dangling from a treadmill. He called for his mother, who dialed 911 and administered CPR.

The child, who had been on life support, was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center, Hill says. Her father, who had been in Las Vegas at the time of the accident, returned to Arizona and was seen entering the hospital in the morning.

Before her death was announced, Tyson released a statement, saying, "The Tyson family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks for all your prayers and support, and we ask that we be allowed our privacy at this difficult time."

It's difficult to imagine the psychological trauma these boys must have experienced--and perhaps still are experiencing--in the name of treating ADHD, bipolar disorder or whatever else they were being given Risperdal for.

All in all, I see this issue with gynecomastia and prolactin levels and Risperdal as validating a lot of my concerns about giving antipsychotics to youngsters. One of my concerns is how these drugs can affect the physical and sexual organ development of youngsters.

Roland Martin Complaint Is That He Is Not Getting Promo For Show

The New York Post’s Page Six posted an item Monday titled, “Sinking Anchors Anderson Cooper and Roland Martin Hobble CNN,” which blames the network’s post-presidential election ratings dip squarely on the two journalists.

The paper, owned by Fox News Channel owner Rupert Murdoch, said one reason for CNN’s sinking ratings has to do with Campbell Brown, the host of “No Bias, No Bull” who has been on maternity leave for the past month and returns in June.

“In her absence, the show with substitute host Roland Martin has nose-dived,” Page Six reported. “Sources say he has complained the network doesn’t promote him enough or book him high-profile guests.”

She managed to crawl to the road and was spotted by a minibus driver who took her to the hospital where she is in intensive care. Accordin More..g to the newspapers, Yildiz A. was married and accused of having a relationship with another man, so a “family council” was called and it was decided to kill her to “cleanse the family’s honor”. The savagery of this particular attack stands out — I had heard of such mutilations in Pakistan, but not in Turkey. On the other hand, Ayse Onal’s excellent book Honor Killing, in which she interviews the men in jail who had carried out “honor” killings, gives other incredibly brutal examples. The one that sticks in my mind is running the girl over with a tractor so it looked like an accident. Is the gratuitous brutality level increasing? Or are we just now starting to hear about it? If you believe in this code, it is sufficient to kill the person to “cleanse” honor, but there appears to be lots of room for torture and revenge. What’s that word I keep using? Insafsiz.

UPDATE: The woman’s husband, Bayram A., ran away, but was soon arrested. Their two children are with the family, although will be taken under “protection”. Bayram A. had gone off to work in construction in Izmir. His relatives accused his wife of having a secret relationship with one of her relatives while her husband was gone. The husband’s relatives called on Bayram A. to return, and held a “family council” that made a “kill” decision. Hearing of this, the young woman, Yildiz A., went to the security forces (probably the gendarmerie) to ask for protection. They took her under their protection and arranged to send her to the nearby town of Agri, but her husband convinced them that his wife was slandering him. The security forces returned Yildiz A. to her husband. (This, to me, is a major point. WHY?) He then took her to the family where she was tortured and left for dead.

Will there be any repercussions for the security forces so that this won’t happen again? Do the security forces that gave her back to the man she said was going to kill her feel any sense of besmirched honor, any shame? They should. I hope they at least have a guard stationed outside her room at the hospital.
UPDATE May 21: Local villagers and Yildiz A.’s own family members told journalists that they thought her husband’s family’s decision to torture and murder Yildiz A. was correct because “she deserved it” and needed to be taught “a lesson”. “If you don’t teach a lesson, everyone will do it.” A women’s organization is taking charge of Yildiz A., since no one from her own family is doing so.

FORREST CITY, Ark. — Rapper T.I. entered an Arkansas federal prison Tuesday to begin a year-and-a-day sentence on a weapons charge.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford J. Harris Jr., still made a concert-like entrance to the Forrest City low-security prison — likely showing up 29 minutes late inside of a black conversion van with tinted windows. T.I was to report at 1 p.m., but the deadline passed as guards outside blocked reporters and onlookers from coming near the facility on a rural state highway.

It was not immediately clear if T.I.’s late arrival would affect his plea deal with prosecutors.

Federal prison spokeswoman Linda Thomas said T.I. had been processed through the prison’s intake system but couldn’t offer a specific time. Thomas said the Atlantan would be known inside as federal prison inmate No. 59458019.

Traci Billingsley, another prison spokesperson, said T.I.’s arrival would be handled no differently than any other and the prison had no special protection prepared for him. The low-security prison has double-bunked cells and a large fenced exercise yard, where inmates in white jumpsuits could be seen Tuesday morning.

“We treat all our offenders in the same manner,” Billingsley said.

T.I., 28, was arrested after trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents in 2007. That came after the his best friend was killed following a post-performance party in Cincinnati in 2006. T.I. has said the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him.

The self-proclaimed “King of the South” had faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each charge in his three-count indictment. However, he reached a plea deal with prosecutors after spending time on house arrest before his sentencing and for speaking to community groups and high schools about the dangers of drugs, violence and guns.

Fans gathered down the road from the prison screamed, “We love you, T.I.!” when the black van pulled up at the prison. Afterward, they shouted at television cameras that “T.I. is the greatest!”

“We’re still riding with the king!” yelled Porshe Tiswell, 22, of Forrest City.

Fan Eugene Smith, 24, of Forrest City defended T.I., saying he feared for his life when he purchased the machine guns and silencers from federal agents.

“Somebody set him up, they snitched on him, so it’s a whole different thing,” Smith said. “We got to live a life, you know what I’m saying. We’re out in the street life.”

Upon his release, T.I. will be on probation for three years. He also must pay a $100,000 fine as part of his sentence.
T.I.’s sixth album, “Paper Trail,” has sold about 2 million copies, and he earned a Grammy for the song “Swagga Like Us” performed with Jay-Z. T.I. wrote the lyrics for the album while awaiting trial.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- On paper, he has 20 possibly 21 children.

With a minimum wage job, he can't afford to support them all.
What is the state to do?

Desmond Hatchett, 29, told WVLT he wasn't out to set a record, though he certainly holds it in Knox County Juvenile Child Support Court.

Hatchett's children range in age from newborn to 11.

There are at least 11 mothers; probably several more.

Constitutionally, there is nothing the state can do to limit him from having more.

"I had four kids in the same year. Twice." Desmond Hatchett told Volunteer TV.

On Friday, his name appeared on the docket 11 times; Representing about 15 of his 21 children.

"Can you keep up with it all?" WVLT asked Hatchett.
"Yeah," he said.
"You know all their names, and ages and birthdays?"
"Yeah."

Hatchett's name is pretty controversial at the old courthouse.

"The children can't be supported all by Desmond, so the state of Tennessee has had to step in," Hatchett's attorney Keith Pope said.

It's your tax dollars at work.

WVLT spoke with one mom who has two children with Hatchett.
She is supposed to get $67.50 a month. But many times, she gets a lot less than what she's owed.
They all do.

"It'll make it through half the month," the unidentified mom said.

She told Volunteer TV, Hatchett is the father of her two sons. And she says her 4-year-old is expensive enough on his own. "He's a heavy milk drinker. And milk is not cheap," she said.

"It's frustrating, but usually, when I ask he give it to me," she continued.

It's due process-- the state is only allowed to take 50% of Hatchett's paycheck.
That's 50% split multiple times.

"You look at when they filed, how many children they have-- he has several mothers that he has two children with. And, it's tough" Pope explained.

Still, Hatchett says the women knew what they were getting into.
They were all aware of his large family.

One said, she doesn't like it but she deals with it. "It's about the kids. Not the parents," she said.

Hatchett agrees he should do what's best for the kids.

"Do you intend to keep having children?" WVLT asked.
"No." Hatchett replied.
"You're done?"
"I'm done. I'll say I'm done."
"What made you say that?"
"I didn't intend to have this many. It just happened," Hatchett said.

Desmond Hatchett spent part of Friday afternoon jailed while a child support referee decided how to split up the $400 he brought to court.

If he doesn't pay what he owes, he will go back to jail because he is on an automatic jail order.

The mothers of Hatchett's children are supposed to get anywhere from $25 to $309 a month, but when his paycheck is garnished amongst them all, some women only get a $1.98 a month.

The first show in Danny Gans' former theater didn't make it to the end.

During Whoopi Goldberg's closing minutes, a male patron suffered an apparent seizure near the front of the Encore Theater, according to several witnesses.

Goldberg stopped her show when ushers began tending to the man, who was near Steve and Elaine Wynn, who had arrived arm in arm.

After a minute or two, Goldberg called it a night, telling the audience it was best that she allowed the guest to be assisted.

It happened a little more than an hour into the 8 p.m. show, said local hairstylist Robert Aganza.

A Wynn representative said the condition of the man was not known. "It's not something they usually let us release. Unfortunately, medical issues are common occurrence in theaters. We understand he was talking when the medical people arrived."

Goldberg was the first act in the theater since the May 1 death of the veteran headliner, who died at age 52.

Gans' memorial was held in the theater on Thursday.

Aganza said that as he filed out, he heard showgoers saying "they felt like there was curse on the room. Silly talk like that."

Cops say Williams was popped around 2 AM for assault after he allegedly socked some dude in the face in front of a nightclub in Raleigh. Williams was later released on $1,000 bond.

Go back to April, when the troubled former NBA star was tasered by cops after he allegedly tore up a hotel room in Manhattan...

Natalie Cole Discharged From The Hospital & Memorial Service Held For Her Sister Carol

Natalie Cole has been discharged from the hospital five days after undergoing a kidney transplant.

Cole headed home on Sunday to continue her recovery, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

The Grammy winner, 59, planned to attend a private family memorial service on Monday for her sister Carol "Cookie" Cole, who passed away following a battle with lung cancer the same day Natalie received her life-saving organ transplant.

"Natalie is continuing to do well under the circumstances," says her rep.

In a tragic turn of events, Cole, who had been undergoing dialysis three times a week following complications from treatment for hepatitis C (now in remission), got the call that a donor organ was available while she was holding vigil at her ailing sister's bedside.

Cole is expected to spend the next three to four months recuperating and will reschedule her summer tour dates in support of her album Still Unforgettable.

Mike Tyson's Daughter Found Hanging From Cord

Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter is on life support and in "extremely critical condition" after she was found hanging Monday morning from a treadmill cable in her family's Phoenix home, police said.

Exodus Tyson's 7-year-old brother found her on a treadmill with her neck on a cable attached to the exercise machine, police Sgt. Andy Hill said, calling it a "tragic accident."

The mother sent the boy to find the 4-year-old girl who was playing in a separate room. The boy found his sister in distress and got his mother, police said.

"Somehow she was playing on this treadmill, and there's a cord that hangs under the console — it's kind of a loop," Hill said. "Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it."

The girl's mother took her daughter off the cable, called 911 and attempted to revive her.

Responding officers and firefighters performed CPR on the girl. She was rushed to nearby St. Joe's Hospital after she was found around 10:30 a.m local time, MyFOXPhoenix.com reported.

Hill said former heavyweight champion Tyson had been in Las Vegas but flew to Phoenix immediately after learning of the accident.

Tyson could not immediately be reached for comment. Calls to three of his representatives were either not returned or not answered.

Hill said everything in the investigation pointed to an accident. "There's nothing in the investigation that revealed anything suspicious," he said.

He added that responding to calls involving children is an officer's most difficult duty.

"Those are the things that stay with you in your career," he said. "We always hope for a miracle — not to have the worst happen to a child."

Beverly Edwards of Arden, N.C., dumped her 96-year-old aunt at a Bradenton Salvation Army shelter.

Then again, she was in a hurry. She was headed to Disney World.

Edwards left several bags containing her aunt's medications, urine-soaked clothes and rotten food.

Employees also said Edwards told them she had no plans to return for her aunt, reports the Bradenton Herald.

BRADENTON — A North Carolina woman left her 96-year-old aunt at a local Salvation Army shelter, then left for a Walt Disney World vacation with no plans to return for her, officials said Wednesday.

Now the niece, who disputes officials’ version of events, could face criminal charges in what officials are calling one of the worst local cases of “granny dumping” that they’ve ever seen.

“To take someone hundreds of miles and just dump them, that’s at the far end of the spectrum,” said M. Ashley Butler of Aging Safely Inc., Ruth Smith’s emergency temporary guardian.

Smith now is in Manatee Memorial Hospital for observation and testing while Butler plans to pursue criminal charges against Smith’s niece, Beverly Edwards of Arden, N.C.

Edwards dropped Smith off at the Salvation Army’s shelter at 1204 14th St. W. on Sunday night.

Butler said shelter employees testified during an emergency court hearing Wednesday that Edwards left several bags containing Smith’s medications, urine-soaked clothes and rotten food. Employees also said Edwards, who was not at the hearing, told them she had no plans to return for her aunt.

“They couldn’t wait to leave, got the bags out of the car as fast as they could and literally pushed her out of the car,” Butler said of Edwards and her foster children who were with her.

But Edwards, reached by cell phone in Orlando, said that’s not what happened.

She contends she made prior arrangements with the Salvation Army to temporarily leave her aunt there until she could be placed in an assisted-living facility.

“I thought I was doing the right thing, putting her in a safe place until she had a permanent place to stay,” Edwards said. “I didn’t dump her. I love her.”

Butler said shelter employees accepted Smith “because they knew she was in peril,” but did not agree to house her as Edwards contends. Salvation Army officials declined to comment about Smith, citing confidentiality.

Edwards said she removed her aunt from a Punta Gorda nursing home and moved her to North Carolina two years ago. But Edwards said she grew increasingly unable to care for her aunt, who refused to go to a facility in North Carolina and wanted to return to Florida instead.

So Edwards said she called local assisted-living facilities, nursing homes and housing authorities about taking her aunt and had no luck, but was referred to the local Salvation Army’s emergency shelter. She said the agency agreed to take Smith until paperwork could be completed to place her in an assisted-living facility.

“I was trying to find a good place for my aunt,” Edwards said. “I want her to be taken care of properly.”

But a volunteer attorney for Aging Safely said that’s not what Edwards did.

“The Salvation Army is not an appropriate place for her,” said Erika Dine, who filed motions to have Aging Safely appointed as Smith’s emergency temporary guardian and to determine Smith’s level of incapacity.

After Edwards left the shelter, employees reported the episode to the Florida Department of Children and Families, Butler said. The agency launched an investigation and called Aging Safely, which is the public guardian for Manatee and DeSoto counties.

The Bradenton Police Department and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said they have not opened investigations.

Smith’s plight is not that unusual at the Salvation Army shelter: Manager Joanell Greubel said an elderly person has been left at the shelter by family members or caregivers an average of once a year in the eight years she’s been there.

Detroit Councilwoman Paid $65 Dollars In Taxes For Her Home

Detroit City Councilwoman JoAnn Watson paid only $68 in property taxes this year because city records say her well-kept, brick Tudor-style home doesn't exist. Although the home has occupied its west-side plot since 1926, city records have classified the parcel as an empty lot for the past decade.

Watson said she was unaware of the discrepancy until the Free Press contacted her. She said the change came before she was elected to City Council -- and without her involvement.

"I pay the taxes. All I know is I had a big drop when my house got hit hard by a tornado," she said. "We had great damage."

Watson said she could not recall the specific date the tornado hit, saying it might have been 2002, or perhaps 1993.

She acknowledged, however, that she never reported the incident. National Weather Service meteorologists said the last tornadoes to hit Detroit occurred in 1996 and 1997 -- before Watson says her taxes were reduced because of what she called "the natural disaster."

Watson, who said she receives her property tax bill separate from her mortgage bill, said she never questioned why her taxes dropped -- or why they didn't increase after she repaired her home.

"If it's an amount that's been determined by the people who are in the business of assessing ... and you pay that, then what's the issue?" she asked.

Watson's neighbors in comparable homes pay $2,000 to $6,500 in taxes. "My house has always been there," she said.

On Friday morning, Watson entered the city tax assessor's office and asked for a review of her tax bill.

Watson's failure to realize she was paying significantly less than she should is noteworthy because she occasionally admonishes city officials for not being more diligent in collecting outstanding property taxes. She says the city needs that money to reduce its deficit, which recent estimates put at close to $300 million.

Watson, who is paid $81,000 a year and gets a city-owned Ford Crown Victoria, said her taxes are paid in full. She said it never occurred to her that her tax bill was a fraction of what it should have been.

"I am paying what the assessor assessed," Watson said, expressing dismay when the Free Press informed her Thursday of the discrepancy.

Watson bought the home on a land contract in 1990. She agreed to pay $40,000. A year earlier, city assessors pegged the home's value at about $37,000.

Currently, assessors calculate the property's value at $1,658 because they consider it a vacant lot.

She said she did not rejoice in the tax break.

"In fact, I was kind of insulted," she said, adding that she feared the value of her home had plummeted.

However, in 2002, as she prepared to run for City Council, Watson obtained a $60,000 mortgage.

To obtain the loan, Watson acknowledged that her property was appraised. But she said that appraisal did not prompt her to think that her home had regained value and, consequently, would merit an increase in her property tax bill.

She said she assumed the appraisers "used their financial wizardry" to help her get the loan on her home.

When Free Press reporters questioned Watson about her property taxes, she said she would go to the assessor's office Tuesday and say: "Are you aware you're charging me for a lot and I live in a house?"

If correcting the error generates a bill for back taxes, Watson said she will be "happy to pay it. I pay my bills."

Watson instead went to the assessor's office Friday morning, arriving just after 9.

A clerk confirmed that the property was listed as vacant.

The councilwoman said, no, there was a home on the lot, and told her about the tornado.

Watson asked how soon her property could be reassessed.

"I don't want special treatment," she said. "I want someone to look at it."

The exchange was completed in about 10 minutes. The clerk reviewed her 2002 mortgage. And she gave Watson a form to request an assessment.

"I'll bring it back," Watson said, smiling.

His final performance before federal detention

A year in federal prison will only help rapper T.I.’s music career, fans said at they lined up outside his Atlanta concert Sunday night.

The “Goodbye Bash” show is the Atlanta recording artist’s final performance before he reports to a federal detention facility in Arkansas Tuesday.

The Phillips Arena show, which sold out, drew fans who were there to support their star despite his “mistakes.”
“We all makes mistakes and deserve a second chance,” said DJ Osiris Lakruzh. “He will do his time and get back and continue to shock the world.”

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., is scheduled to report to the Forrest City Correctional Institute on Tuesday. The rapper was sentenced to serve a year and a day for illegal firearms possession and being a convicted felon with a firearm.

The prison sentence will only help show fans that T.I. is “just like them,” said Kue Brower, a producer for T.I.’s opening act Southern Comfort.

“Prison - that’s not even a question,” he said. “Going to prison is like waking up in the morning. It happens to everybody.”
The rapper was arrested in October 2007 just hours before he was to receive two awards at the BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony in Atlanta. He was taken into custody by federal agents at a Midtown parking lot for trying to buy machine guns and silencers.

In addition to his prison sentence, T.I. had to complete 1,000 hours of community service.
Lisa Thomas, who drove from Savannah to see the concert, said she has been inspired by T.I.’s community service, including anti-gang talks to youth.

“He’s real positive because he’s against violence,” she said. “He’s a role model for young boys because he talks about what he’s been through in his music.”

Lovata Hannsberry said T.I. is a positive influence for her children because he’s a young parent like herself. Hannsberry brought her 8-year-old daughter Queen and 10-year-old son Majeste to the concert.

“T.I. has grown so much as an artist and he has kids like I do,” the mother said. “And it sounds like he came out OK. I mean, is he really going in?”

On Friday, a federal judge in Atlanta denied the rapper’s motion to delay reporting to prison. T.I.’s lawyers requested the extension to petition the federal Bureau of Prisons to house the rapper in a minimum security prison camp instead of the low-security detention facility.Terry McCray, who attended the concert with family, said she lived across the street from T.I. in the Center Hill section of Atlanta.

“I remember when he was 8 years old and was running around,” she said. “I’ve always been a fan. And we all make mistakes.”

Atlanta officer suspended over comments about mayor

Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington on Saturday suspended the police union head who said he wanted to beat Mayor Shirley Franklin with a bat.

“The Atlanta Police Department does not condone nor will we tolerate supervisors making irresponsible and inflammatory remarks

against the Mayor or any citizen of the City of Atlanta,” Pennington said in a statement released late Saturday night regarding Sgt. Scott Kreher.

Kreher would be relieved of duty and placed on paid administrative leave pending a psychological evaluation, Pennington’s statement said.

Kreher, president of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers — Local 623, on Wednesday told city council members that he wanted to hit the mayor “in the head with a baseball bat.”

Kreher could not be reached Saturday night for comment.

The comment came during a public discussion about seriously injured police officers receiving poor treatment from the city’s workers’ compensation program.

Kreher later apologized for the statement, but Franklin vowed publicly to file federal and state complaints against him.

A statement Saturday from the mayor’s office called Kreher’s comment “reprehensible,” and said she felt threatened.

Franklin declined to comment on the issue of the city’s workers’ compensation plan, however.
